Leo McMight Logo Design

Date November 12, 2007

Matt Danner’s series Leo McMight the Foot Tall Knight needed a logo design before he started pitching it around.  Danner designed the stained glass segment, and then I added in the logo and built a cover design in Photoshop.

Knights of Sherwood Logo

Date November 12, 2007

Mike Milo, a storyboard artist, director and series creator, sold a show idea to Warner Bros. Animation back in 2003.  I ended up producing the pilot for his show Knights of Sherwood, and I also designed the logo.

2003 Simpson Family Holiday Card

Date November 12, 2007

The 2003 Simpson Family Holiday card was before we were both Simpsons. Daniela was still a Votavova, the name she was born with in the Czech Republic. There, the tradition is to buy a carp in the town square, which will become the centerpiece of the Christmas feast. I took liberties with this concept that year and designed a 3-panel fold-out card depicting the story of a doomed carp. Here’s the first panel:

Xiaolin Showdown Bus Driver

Date November 12, 2007

In 2003, I was the Production Manager for Xiaolin Showdown, a series created by Christy Hui.  One of the crew members (Lois Lee?) added me to a scene in one of the episodes as the bus driver.  Note the signature giant chin.

Special Delivery Pitch Bible

Date November 12, 2007

Once again, Matt Danner and I teamed up on a project - this time for Special Delivery, a series pitch.  It wasn’t our concept, but Danner created the designs, Lois Lee inked, and colored and then built the pitch bible.

2004 Simpson Family Holiday Card

Date November 12, 2007

The 2004 Holiday season was all about puppets. I had recently finished several puppet projects and I figured I’d take a swipe at designing my wife Daniela and I in that style.

Comedy Courthouse

Date November 12, 2007

Back in 2002, Matt Danner and I created a TV series concept called Comedy Courthouse. Our pal Harland Williams collaborated, and we built a pitch bible. Matt created the puppet design on paper, and then I took it into Photoshop and added texture and lighting. I also created the logo design.

Here’s detail on the stenographer - design by Danner, photoshop texture by me.

Fo Fo Figgily’s Logo Design

Date November 12, 2007

My friend Matt Danner and I worked on a project for the brilliant Jamie Riess in 2003. His growing chain of Fo Fo Figgily’s children’s activity centers is sort of like Willy Wonka’s factory with better parking. Here’s the logo I designed:

Dakota’s Restaurant Logo

Date November 12, 2007

I think it was 1997 when I created the logo for Dakota’s Steak Restaurant in Simi Valley.  They’ve since changed the logo a bit, but here’s a photo of what the sign looked like a few years back:

Johnny Test Logo

Date November 12, 2007

Back at Warner Bros., I produced the original pilot for Johnny Test, the KidsWB! series that’s now produced out of Collideascope in Canada. While working on the pilot, I also designed the logo.

But as the show went to air, the logo got tweaked a bit, and this is what it currently looks like:

The series looked essentially the same back then. Matt Danner created the character designs, which ended up in a Flash pilot - here’s a still of that.
